Color pencil drawing of a small, faerie-like deer; where the antlers would normally emerge, there is a spray of blue forget-me-nots. The background is a muted blending of blues, greens, and golds, creating a hazy effect.

The Studio's Story

Hello and welcome! I'm Lyra. I started making art when I was quite little, and while the call has waxed and waned over the years, I returned to creating with purpose in 2019. Currently, I like to work with several media: graphite, inks, watercolor, and acrylic.

Why "galloping crow?"

For some reason I can't fully explain, I've always felt a kinship with crows. They are loud, beautiful, and fierce, but they have the goofiest damn walk (galloping) when they're trying to get out of the way in a hurry.I'll be honest, like a lot of artists, I've wrestled with how to name my practice for years. This particular name/phrase has come back to me over and over, and it finally won out, much like the practice of art did. I'm very pleased they managed to do so. ;)

Thanks for visiting!
