Color pencil drawing of a small, faerie-like deer; where the antlers would normally emerge, there is a spray of blue forget-me-nots. The background is a muted blending of blues, greens, and golds, creating a hazy effect.

Hello & welcome!

I'm Lyra. I started making art when I was little; while the call has waxed and waned over the years through school, work, and life in general, I returned to creating with purpose in 2019. I like to work with several media, but my favorites are graphite, colored pencils, ink, watercolor, and acrylic.

Why "galloping crow?"

I've always felt a kinship with crows. They are bright and fierce, but they also have the goofiest walk when they're trying to get out of the way in a hurry. I saw one doing just that on a bus ride home from work some time ago, and I realized I could relate, being a bit of an awkward mover myself from time to time. I took the name as a moniker online, and it eventually felt right to give the name to my practice. Thanks for visiting!
